For their DC headquarters, a newspaper and digital media company is looking for an on-site operations director. The division’s executive vice president and general manager will be the immediate boss of this position. Accounts payable, creating cash reports and monthly reconciliations are just a few of the administrative duties that fall under the category of responsibilities. Others include hiring and firing employees, recruiting, planning and maintaining facilities, maintaining equipment, and managing the office. Other responsibilities include encouraging people to provide their best effort and boosting corporate spirit through staff meetings and team-building exercises. Strong candidates will be proactive problem solvers who are meticulous and well-organized. Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Must be able to work independently, use own judgment, and work effectively with others in a group setting. The candidate will be competent in using Microsoft Office programs and have a working understanding of finances and budgeting. Three to five years of experience are needed, ideally in a field linked to project management, office management, accounting, procurement, or human resources.
Program Associate
A women’s empowerment nonprofit is looking for a proactive and imaginative Program Associate to help develop the community and actively enhance interaction with current and previous participants of the organization’s programs. Coordinating marketing and communication plans, helping to build the organization’s web presence, finding opportunities to connect current and previous clients, making sure recipient data is up to date, and other jobs are among the responsibilities. The ideal applicant is meticulous and well-organized. Should have good interpersonal communication skills and a professional manner. The ideal candidate will be adept with social media and have a working knowledge of CRM and Office 365. An educational or alumni relations background is preferred. must have a bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of full-time work experience.
Public Service
Nonprofit serving local governments across the country are looking for an accomplished Senior Human Resources Specialist. This position will deliver a range of sophisticated and routine functions under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer. Among other tasks in hiring, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, and compliance, responsibilities also include reviewing and supporting all HR initiatives, helping to develop and implement HR policies, developing training and development programs, and managing and reviewing the performance evaluation process. Strong candidates will be well-organized, meticulous, and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Should be able to communicate effectively with coworkers of all levels and backgrounds and possess strong verbal, writing, and interpersonal communication skills. The ideal applicant will be knowledgeable in MS Office and HRIS.
Strong HR background, comprehension of hiring, performance reviews, and labor relations, as well as familiarity with both federal and local labor regulations, are necessary. a bachelor’s degree is required.
